Le Chemin de Fer de la vallee d'Eure runs every Sunday at 3 pm.

The third edition of the international chamber music Festival Musique de chambre a Giverny organized by the association Musique de Chambre en Normandie and its artistic director Michel Strauss will take place from August 25 through September 3, 2006. 15 Concerts. Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Dvorak. Guest componist : Krzysztof Penderecki.

ENVIRONMENT FEAST
In June On the banks of the river Seine in Vernon. Information on water, energy, transport, nature, etc.Green market : sale and tasting of natural products.
MEDIEVAL FEAST
In June. In the medieval town of Les Andelys and Chateau-Gaillard : fire-eaters, bear-keepers, falconry demonstrations, knights in armour, concerts, and more. 8 and 5 euros.
CHERRY FAIR
23rd Cherry fair Vernon. During four days on the Whit weekend. Commercial fair, town festival, fun fair, waiters race, mechanical showel competition, pedal cars race... and tons of cherries !
STONE CARVING CONTEST IN VERNON
40 stone carvers competed on May 21 and 22, 2005 in Vernon, in front of the old castle's keep. The donjon was built in Vernon stone in the 12th Century. The artists will have 24 hours to make a sculpture on the theme of gothic art in a block of Vernon stone.
PAINTING DAY

First Sunday of June, 4/6/2006
No matter wether you are an artist or not, everybody is invited to sit down in the streets to paint in open air. A straw hat will be given to the painters. Giverny and Vernon take part in this event organised for the second time in the area.

A SUNDAY A LA CARTE IN VERNON

Sports and cultural activities for the family ranging from little train to short cruises, mountain bike or medieval shows. Free.

MUSIC DAY
On June 21 to celebrate the beginning of Summer, like everywhere in France, organised or improvised concerts, all free, at the collegiate church, at the Cultural Center Philippe Auguste, on the market square, in the coffee shops and on street corners.

CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL DAY ON JULY 14
Like everywhere in France, fireworks and popular open-air dance on July 13 at night.
In Vernon the fireworks take place over the Seine river near the Tourelles Castle. Good view from the bridge or from the opposite bank.
In Les Andelys, fireworks on the medieval castle Chateau-Gaillard. Waiting for the night to fall with the castle and the Seine valley at your feet is a magical moment.
In Pressagny-l'Orgueilleux, fireworks in chateau de la Madeleine, and then dance in the park of the castle. Very convenient with children, they can run in the dark, there aren't any cars.
For those who really love fireworks : the next evening (July 14) in Notre-Dame de l'Isle. On the banks of the River Seine. Small fee.
No fireworks in Giverny.

PATRIMONY DAYS

Like everywhere in France, on September third weekend. Free guided visits (in French) of old districts, free entrance or reduced rates to visit monuments, exceptionnal opening of places which are closed the rest of the year.
