La Bucaille Bed and Breakfast
In the middle of the countryside at 19 km from Giverny -17km from Vernon-, you will stay at La Bucaille in a farm in activity where potatoes, wheat, flax and sugar beets are grown.
The guest rooms are located in a separate mansion out of bricks dated 1893 that used to be the masters' house.
Everything was designed spacy from the origin, being the bedrooms or the reception halls.
Sophie Hamot enhanced the spirit of the place by a subtle and personal decoration.
If the weather is chilly a log fire will welcome you in the living room.
If the sun shines you will probably like to take advantage of the private backyard.

History
A (big!) surprise awaits history fans: next to the garden, a motte-and-bailey is still visible.
This fortification was probably erected in the 12th century.
In those times Guiseniers was on the border between the Dukedom of Normandy, fiefdom of the king of England, and the kingdom of France.
Chateau-Gaillard, the fortress of Richard the Lion Heart, is only 7 km away.
The wooden castle that must have been on the top doesn't exist any more. The mound and the ditch around are totally artificial and were man-made.
It disappeared at the Revolution.
