At the foot of the stronghold Chateau-Gaillard, Nadine and Eric took up the challenge to turn a former hotel into a guest house.

The building dating back to the 18^th Century was originally a post house. It has kept its horseshoe shape opening onto the River Seine, and its walls covered by virginia creeper.

The five enlarged bedrooms are still lined along a corridor, but their attractive and imaginative decoration is indeed the one of a B&B. Nadine, who used to work in a perfume shop, was inspired by famous fragrances to create a unique atmosphere in each room.

On the first floor, a living and dining-room is at the guests' disposal to have breakfast or to relax. A terrace invites to laze about in the shade of the old linden tree.

The exceptional setting of Petit-Andely, with its quaint houses gathering around the little Saint-Saviour church, and the river Seine flowing at the foot of the chalk hills dominated by the skyline of Chateau-Gaillard, makes you want to stay longer at Villa Alienor. Long enough, at least, to recall the famous Alienor of Aquitany, Richard the Lionheart's mother, who transmitted him her refined tastes for poetry, music and fine clothing...
