I was most fortunate to have spent time in Giverny and Rouen,the highlight was the trip to Claude Monet's home and gardens on a beautiful Summers day.

The water lilies in the pond were mostly finished blooming but the rest of the garden was amazing.This is a must see experience for anyone!

Sorry not a comment on a visit. I hope to bring my wife who has limited mobility to Giverny next yesr. I am hoping to fly to PARIS and drive to Giverny to stay for a few days as I feel an organised excursion would not allow us time to see all we want at our slower pace. Can you please tell me how accesible the Money Gardens are with a wheel chair. A visit would fulfil a lifelong ambition for my wife and I would be grateful for any advice,

I have a print of one of his garden works. I've had it for 10 years. I just noticed that in the middle of the print theres an "Eye" or more like a profile of a face. Is that suppose to be there. It shows up on all of the prints in the same location. Just trying to figure out why I'm all of sudden seeing this...

My wife and I visited Monet's Garden five years ago. On our farm in Australia, we have constructed a replica of Monet's pond and now plan to build a copy of his beautiful bridge with the Wistaria overhead. We want it to be in exact proportion but cannot find details of the precise dimensions. Could you possibly forward to me details of the length of the arch, the walkway width, heights of the hand-rails, width and height of the walkway boards and most importantly, separation distance of the vertical posts and the height/width of the support beams below the walkway. Are these support beams actually curved or are they in short, straight sections, giving an illusion of curvature ? I'm concerned that any error in my design drawings will make our finished bridge quite out of proportion and spoil the inherent beauty of the original design.

I have never forgotten my trip, some years ago, to Giverny and I hope to return soon. On my visit I purchased a bottle of perfume called Les fleurs de Claude Monet which I have long since used up. But, I have saved the empty bottle and all these years later I can still smell the divine fragrance when I remove the top. Is it possible that you still sell this exquisite floral perfume and might I be able to order a bottle from your giftshop? Or will I just have to return to Giverny in person! I visited the gardens in Giverny in 2002 after we had built a small replica of the garden by the book "Monet's Passion" in Muskegon, MI, USA. I was very happy to see that we had captured a lot of the charm and beauty of the original garden. Anyone who can't visit the garden in France is welcome to visit our little corner in Michigan. I loved the garden in France but doubt I will ever be able to revisit.

This is a wonderful site with lots of excellent information. We visited only for 3 days and stayed in a most beautiful ancient house called "The Lilacs" in Vernon :) and enjoyed every minute of it. In this short period we visited the Monet gardens but also tried to get an impression of Vernon. Lovely place with beautiful old houses and church. Visited Bizy castle which was certainly worth visiting! Hope to return to Vernon as we definetly need more to explore!!

I visited the gardens on June 8, 2006, and was absolutely enchanted by the colours and fragrant air. One rose in particular had the most sublime fragrance. An orange/pink rose bush located near the path leading to the Atelier.... Although I made a mental note of the name on the tag at the foot of the plant, I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Anyone else notice this magnificent perfume?

Visited Giverny and Vernon in May, 2002. Giverny is a beautiful town, and Monet's studio and garden is breathtaking. If you're visiting Paris or northern France, I recommend a trip there.

We have been blessed to visit Giverny on a few occassions and are planning another trip for early 2007. We are looking forward to enjoying the beauty and ambiance of your lovely area and people. I am most interested in looking for an item I purchased at the gift shop on the premise of Msr. Claude Monet's home and gardens. In 1970 I spent the most wonderful time in Vernon, at Mme Parmentier's home, and with my dear friends the Paillottin family who had a house in Pressagny. A friend of Claude Monet was asked by Monet to do a photo of him while he was still alive as he wished to appear after he passed on. He laid on his kitchen table put his big straw hat on his chest. It was a real work of art. It was kept in the home of his artist friend Harry Lachman.At the time of Quan Tai Lachman people were buying the household goods and someone stole the photo. It was lovely and well done I hope it shows up someday it was priceless. And should have been enjoyed by the whole world. Which was Harry Lachman's wish.

I am trying to research my Great-Great-Grandmother's family. Born in 1832,her maiden name was Susan Catherine Monet. She and her husband, Jacob Ulcher, came to New York State from Lucerne, Switzerland just before 1870. They brought their daughter Susan Catherine Ulcher with them.
